Lucky Curve and Duofold

PK2146 $435

Parker Duofold Senior Streamline Fountain Pen, ca. early 1930s, Moderne Black and Pearl. Gold filled trim, triple cap bands. Clip is marked: Pat Sep 5-16. Barrel is marked: Parker Duofold Made in USA Patented. Parker 14kt solid gold nib is marked: Parker Duofold Pen Made in USA. This very large nib is a smooth, firm fine point. Button fill - fills only from a bottle. Measures 5.25 inches long. Just a tad of brassing to the top side of the clip ball. Cap has very good color, I'd give it about an 8 out of 10. The barrel has ambered, but I've seen far worse, I'd call it a 5 out of 10. Tough to find these with perfect color. Hard rubber blind cap and cap top are bright and shiny black as they should be. Perhaps not the perfect collectible Duo Streamline Senior, but very respectable.

Parkette, Challenger, and Thriftime

PK2397 $25

Parker Deluxe Challenger Mechanical Pencil,US, ca. 1936, black and silvery green celluloid, bright chrome trim, triangular clip with ball at end is engraved:  Parker.  Black cap jewel.  Triple cap bands. Twist to extend and retract 1.1mm diameter lead.  Measures 4.75 inches long.  Clear Parker barrel imprint.  Name engraved on barrel:
Lucille.  Brassing to the cap bands, otherwise very good condition.

PK2455  $45

Parker Parkette Duette Junior Mechanical Pencils, ca. late 1920s – early 1930s, Moderne Green and Pearl, gold filled clip and trim.  Triangular ball clip is marked: Parker.  Single band at cap edge.  Twist to extend and retract 1.1mm diameter lead.   Measures 4.5 inches long.   The color is slightly darker than original, but far better than most from this era, I’d give it an 8 out of 10 with 10 being perfect.  The flat top cap screw is totally brassed as is the top of the clip ball.  There is also some brassing to the cap band and ferrule.  This Duette, part of Parker’s series of Depression era writing instruments is very difficult to find and this one is in far, far better condition than most.  As with most pencils, the celluloid has fared far better than on fountain pens due to the lack of exposure
to a rubber sac.   Overall very good and a not often seen Parker.

PK2415 $450

Parker 51 Fountain Pen and Mechanical Pencil Set, ca. 1945, USA, Yellowstone Yellow (more commonly referred to as Mustard), Heritage Cap 1/10 16KT Gold Filled with feathered cap edge and engraved lines, Parker gold filled blue diamond clip.  Double grey pearl jewels.  Vacumatic filling – fills only from a bottle.  Solid 14KT gold hooded nib is a firm medium point.  Name engraved on FP barrel: C.B. Hempel.  There is a hint of brassing to the cap edge and also at top of the cap back center.  One very small ding on cap to left and below clip end, one other larger dent about 5mm angled to right side of clip.  Mechanical Pencil uses 0.9mm diameter lead, twist cap to extend and retract lead. Barrel is slightly darker than the fountain pen.  One very shallow ding to back center of cap.  No engraving on the pencil.  It is not unusual for the pencils which were made of celluloid to vary slightly from the fountain pens made of Lucite.  In correct and what we presume to be the original Parker 51 box, brass edges of box are well tarnished, but overall it is in very nice condition with the 51 medallion on the lid.  (1 avail)

PK2433  $200

Parker 51 Fountain Pen, ca. 1946, USA, India Black barrel, Lustraloy cap with jewelers band of engraved parallel lines, grey pearl jewel, Lustraloy blue diamond style clip.  Vacumatic filling –fills only from a bottle.  Measures 5.25 inches long.  Solid 14KT gold hooded nib is a firm medium point.  Very good condition.

PK2442 $100

Parker 41 Fountain Pen, ca. early 1950s, USA, Grey barrel, Lustraloy cap (incorrect), black jewel, polished steel feathered clip. Aerometric filling – fills only from a bottle.  Filler is marked  To Fill Press Ribbed Bar Four Times. Use Dry Writing Superchrome Ink. Wipe front end point down with soft tissue. Use Parker Ink. The Parker Pen Co Made in USA. Parker 41. The words Parker 41 are double struck on the filler.  Measures 5.5 inches long.  Octanium hooded nib is a firm extra fine point.  A bit of an oddity with the Parker 41 markings on filler and the black jewel, but on the lustraloy cap, plus there is a tiny hole drilled in the barrel end.  Several small bumps on the barrel otherwise quite nice and indeed a bit of an oddity.

Our all-time favorite Parker 51 advertisement dates to 1945 and isn't fancy at all, but it is a very innovative form of advertising!

Parker 45

The Parker 45 was first introduced in 1960 and was based on the original Eversharp 10,000 design that Parker acquired with the acquisition of Eversharp in the late 1950s. Parker 45s were last produced in 2007. They are one of the Parker pens that I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a retro version of in the future. Great value for a workhorse pen! Sometimes people think all Parker 45s are the same, but that is far from the truth. Collectibility and pricing is all based on a variety of factors - rarity of color or finish, cap material and trim, nib material and width as well as the condition. Parker 45s are cartridge/converter fill.

Converters are available separately - we have both original and current production converters to fit these pens. Complimentary ink cartridges are included with each Parker 45 purchased. (Sorry, none available at this time)

P861 $25

Parker Pen Company Packing List, ca. 1940s. Not dated, found with WWII era Parker Quink boxes and the style of the packing list seems to fit in with that era as well.

It's made out to Hoke Drug Co in Raeford, NC and was for a lighted display case of some sort. Parker sent 30 dozen bottles of Quink Ink to offset the cost of the display. The Parker address is Court and Division Sts in Janesville. Measures 5 3/8 x 11 inches. There is a burn mark center left and a tear in the center, blue ink smudge in lower right corner. All in all it has survived the years quite well and seems to have outlasted the Hoke Drug Company which no longer seems to be in business.

P862 $75

Parker Illustrated Heritage Calendar - Parker 1997 Heritage Calendars have a story to tell and the illustrations are magnificent. Truly works of art, the illustrations were recreated from old black and white Parker advertisements, skillfully restored and hand colored. Each page of the calendar is 16.5 x 23.5 inches with a small monthly reference calendar at the bottom of the page, the colored print is above the calendar. The calendar was printed on a gloss heavy white stock, very suitable for framing should you so desire. There is also a bound in full sized page explaining the history of the advertising prints in English and five other languages. These calendars are in pristine condition inside a protective cardboard envelope. Each illustration features a different advertisement with Parker Pens from the early Lucky Curve era. Early black and white Parker advertisements using these illustrations and from same era sell for $10-$15 each. These colored illustrations are far more beautiful and a very limited quantity was produced. Four of the twelve illustrations are shown just to give you an overall feel for the beauty of the Parker artwork. A must have for the serious Parker collector!

PK2226 $25

Parker Duofold Mosaic Retail Display Pad - In 2001 Parker introduced the special edition Mosaic Duofold series. This retail counter display was used to show the pen to customers and attract attention to the new Duofold. It is an exceptional display piece made of printed acrylic, the mosaic design is hard to capture but it lies in the background in a subtle grey against the shiny very dark black background. Printed in the lower right corner is Parker Duofold Mosaic logo in silver, white and red. Measures 17.25 x 10.75 inches, small rubber raised feet on the underside. There is a little bit of light surface wear, overall very nice condition. Great item for the Parker collector. Far fewer of these displays were made than Parker Mosaic pens themselves!
