Pilot of Japan has been making fine pens since 1918. Many of their pens are distributed in the US and Europe under their Namiki division including the popular Vanishing Point and Falcon flexible nibbed pens. Pilot is known the world over for their exceptionally smooth writing nibs and unusual pen designs. Japanese pens typically write a finer line than most American and European fountain pens. Many of the Pilot pens you will find in our vintage and collectible section below were sold only to the Japanese market. |

Namiki Falcon
The Namiki Falcon features classic styling, but it's most extraordinary feature is its flexible nib that gently yields to the user's writing angle. The nib was designed by Namiki engineers with input from the association of pen shop owners in Japan who recommended a soft flexible writing feel. Available as a fountain pen with 14 karat gold nib in soft fine, medium or broad point. Converter included with each pen. Each pen is packaged in a black leather gift box. ![]()
A note about the Falcon's flexible nib. As a long time aficionado of vintage flexible nibs, I was most skeptical when Namiki introduced this pen claiming the nib to be flexible. I was pleasantly surprised that this nib truly is flexible. This is the only modern nib that I have found that qualifies for the term flexible. Try one and you'll see what I mean! |
Vanishing Point PensThe Vanishing Point was first introduced in the late 1960s and while it has undergone a number of minor design changes to evolve to the present day styling, the special feature of the Vanishing Point, its retractable nib remains the same. The Vanishing Points unique retractable nib is reliable and convenient, just click the button and the 14 KT nib instantly extends or retracts. Available in a variety of barrel colors in fine, medium or broad 14 karat gold nibs. Converter included with each pen. Black leather gift box. Please note our current selection of the Vanishing Point pens below. July 24, 2008 - Our allotment of the upcoming purple Vanishing Point Pens scheduled for September delivery is already sold out! Thanks to all who inquired and for your advance orders.

Pilot Parallel PensThese are much fun to write with, in fact some of the most fun pens we've played around with and favorites of many calligraphers and artists around the globe. Think of them as an extra versatile italic calligraphy pen! There are four different nib widths available. Each pen comes with two Pilot cartridges and a Pilot converter for bottled ink. You can also use these as eyedropper style pens and fill the barrel full of ink. Not only will they thrive on regular fountain pen inks, but you can use all sorts of other medium in them, too. The possibilities are endless!
